Yograj Singh, the father of former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh is in the news once again. This time he has gone viral for schooling the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
Kohli and Rohit announced their Test retirements last month. According to Yograj, the senior players have put Shubman Gill, the new Indian Test skipper in a spot of bother by calling time on their Test careers.
As per him, the senior players needed to continue playing Test cricket especially the Test series against England. The Indian team chosen for the Test series against England is an inexperienced one in the absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Virat, Rohit Can Still Play For 5 Years - Yograj Singh
The likes of Sai Sudharshan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, Yashasvi Jaiswal will be playing their first Test series in England. Gill along with Rishabh Pant have played in England before. Meanwhile, Yograj Singh said that the senior players have not passed on the baton to young Shubman Gill.
"They should be there to see that the baton is passed to the youngsters. The baton has not been passed, it has been thrown to Gill," he said.
The former Indian cricketer also questioned their retirements saying that both Kohli and Rohit still had five years of Test cricket in them.
"Virat and Rohit shouldn’t have retired from Tests. I told Rohit to get up at 5 AM and run for 20 km to keep himself fit. Virat and Rohit can still play for another 5 years in Test cricket. They should have played," Yograj told Inside Sport.

Kohli, Rohit's Numbers in Test Cricket
Kohli retired from Test cricket after playing 123 Test matches scoring 30 hundreds. Rohit, on the other hand, played 67 Tests scoring over 4000 runs and 12 centuries. Virat scored 9,230 runs at an average of 46.85 — a tally that includes 30 hundreds and 31 fifties. He is India's fourth-highest run-getter in the format.
